  • Banner comodín Firm-level innovation and economic performance. An evolutionary perspective

The objective of this study is to analyze, from an evolutionary perspective, the main theoretical aspects of the relationship between innovation and firm performance.  This analysis focuses on mechanisms that translate the development of capabilities and introduction of innovations into competitive advantages, which in the context of the competition define the possibilities of the firms to increase their market share, displacing competitors and improving its economic and productive performance.  It provides that the firms strategies, depending on knowledge exploration and exploitation, determine the different mechanisms mediating the relationship between innovation and three performance actions taken: productivity, employment and exports.

The work was developed in the framework of incubation of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Science, Technology and Innovation (CIECTI), an institutional space sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation which is aimed at analysis, design and impact assessment of policies focused in STI promotion.

The CIECTI central mission will be to provide an interdisciplinary platform, with regional projection from the very beginning, to strengthen the actions that the Ministry and the Department of Planning and Policy in particular, have been carrying out to put the STI at the service of an economic development project based on the principles of social inclusion and environmental sustainability.

Currently, the CIECTI is under the incubation phase, whose responsibility falls to the consortium formed by three entities created specifically for this purpose: the National University of Quilmes, the National University General Sarmiento and the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences.

  • libro_libro_blanco_de_la_prospectiva_tic White Paper of ICT Prospective. 2020 Project

The White Paper of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is the result of a collective effort of the community of technologists, scientists and entrepreneurs from Argentina in this strategic area for the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, aimed at defining its future and the opportunities it presents for the country. The work, which focuses primarily on software and computer services, was conducted through a virtual forum organized by the Ministry since its creation, in late 2007. It has involved more than 200 people, relevant characters from industry, government and academy. As a result of the initial discussions of the Virtual Forum, in 2008, 19 working groups were organized to discuss the main aspects of the ICT problem. In particular, the groups tried to identify technologies and application and business areas that should be primarily promoted in Argentina in the coming years. Each group produced a document, which was discussed by the other participants in the forum. The book presented here is the result of the integration of this effort.
