The Ministry of Science launches new financing projects for $120 million
Three new calls for projects regarding tourism, municipal development and, as a new feature, robotics and technology for education are part of the package that is available through the Federal Council for Science and Technology (COFECYT). Thus, interested parties may request to receive financial support in the form of Non-Reimbursable Contributions and permanent window.

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of the Nation (MINCYT), through the Federal Council for Science and Technology (COFECYT), is launching three new financing lines for a total amount of $ 120 million in the form of non-reimbursable contributions (ANR, for its acronym in Spanish) and permanent window. In this respect, the Robotics and Technology for Education Program is included for the first time. Said program is aimed at teaching mechanics, electronics and programming to primary and secondary school students. Likewise, the Council reopens two lines of the traditional, well-known Federal Program for Science and Technology: projects for Technological Support for the Touristic Sector (ASETUR) and projects for Municipal Technological Development (DETEM).
Tourism, municipalities and robotics
ASETUR Projects - Technological Support for the Touristic Sector
It will finance projects related to the touristic sector submitted by public or private bodies. Technological projects that imply an improvement and difference in the existing touristic offer, apart from an overall improvement in the corresponding touristic destiny(s), may participate in the call. The projects must be jointly approved by the Council and the enforcement authority, together with the corresponding Tourism area.
A total amount of $ 48 million will be given; while each ANR will be of up to $ 2 million per jurisdiction.
DETEM projects - Municipal Technological Development
Addressed at projects which provide an answer to concrete community demands through the creation and transfer of knowledge and which consolidate municipal governments by promoting better management practices. The projects must be jointly approved by the Council and the enforcement authority.
A total amount of $48 million will be given, and each ANR will be of up to $2 million per jurisdiction.
Robotics and Technology for Education Program
This new program will provide schools with robotics kits produced nationally, with which different robot models will be made, using a software that reduces complexity so that students only focus on the application and algorithm. Moreover, the program includes training for institutes, community centers, and technical, agrotechnical and industrial schools located in the national territory. The beneficiaries will be municipal or provincial bodies and non-profit universities or organizations which are endorsed by the corresponding jurisdiction. Proposals must be approved by the Council and submitted solely by the Science and Technology enforcement authority of the corresponding jurisdiction.
A total amount of $24 million will be given, and ANRs will be of up to $1 million per jurisdiction.
