The CICyT ended the year with significant advances
The body that brings together all bodies for science and technology in the country, held the last meeting of the year.

The Interagency Council on Science and Technology (CICyT), which brings together scientific institutions from the country, held the last meeting of the year where the achievements of 2013 were reviewed. The meeting was headed by the Secretary of the Department of Scientific and Technological Articulation, and the CICyT president, Alejandro Ceccatto, together with the Under Secretary of Institutional Coordination, Sergio Matheos and the Under Secretariat of Institutional Assessment, Cristina Cambiaggio.
During the meeting the most significant facts performed during the year within the Council were reviewed such as the incorporation of the National Weather Service, the Naval Hydrographic Service and the National Geographic Institute. Also during this year the National Center for Regional Development was presented, it will be built in the town of Quines, San Luis, with the support of the CICyT.
Another significant event was the agreement between the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) and the ministry of Science to provide technical personnel to the teams adhered to the National Systems. Meanwhile, this year the new criteria for evaluation of Argentine scientific and technological personnel was improved, two new national systems were created, the first Act of institutional repositories with open and free access was approved and substantial progress a was made in the Risk Management Commission such as the preparation of a list of natural hazards in the country.
