The secretary of the Department of Planning and Policy, Ruth Ladenheim, led the opening ceremony of this conference aimed at academics and stakeholders from the public and private sector aimed to provide an overview on management models and regulations on the subject.

The Secretary Ruth Ladenheim led the opening of the seminar aimed at academics and stakeholders from the public and private sector.

This morning in the Science and Technology Cluster, the Secretary of the Department of Planning and Policy of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Productive Innovation, Ruth Ladenheim, presided over the opening of the "Intellectual property and technology transfer seminar". The director of the UC Davis Law School for Latin America programmes, Jorge Rojas, was in charge of the seminar. He presented views on legal aspects related to the management of intellectual property in a socially responsible manner.

“We are also developing the Office Liaison and Technology Transfer Strengthening Programme, which to date has 13 entities and 40 hired professionals to improve office performance. On the other hand, we are providing consulting services for the creation of a new information management center, which will be focused on professionals who have the ability to deal with multinational companies or universities from developed countries"

In this context, Ladenheim informed the actions conducted by the Ministry in technology transfer, such as the Antenna Technology project or the Tecnonegocios Rounds, both initiatives involving awareness workshops throughout the country this year". “We are also developing the Office Liaison and Technology Transfer Strengthening Programme, which to date has 13 entities and 40 hired professionals to improve office performance. During his speech, Rojas referred, among other issues, to the different models of intellectual property management and transfer currently existing in the region; comparative experiences from other countries, the sharing of different legislative frameworks, the questions arising from the legal field, and the need for governments and academia to cope with the process of technology transfer through strategies and procedures for the protection of ongoing research projects.
