Within the framework of the presentation of results of the I National Technological Entrepreneurship Week organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, through the Department of Planning and Policy, the opening of the call for proposals of activities promoting technological entrepreneurship to be funded under the “II National technology Entrepreneur Week” was announced. The instrument is intended for projects promoting the formation and incorporation of tools and skills development in the detection of scientific/technological-based business opportunities, articulating regional technological demands with scientific-technological offer. Eligible applicants are public or private entities members of the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation, with legal personality. There is time to participate in the call until July 11.

The secretary of the Department of Planning and Policy, Ruth Ladenheim presented the II National Technology Entrepreneurs Week 2014. During the ceremony, she emphasized the federal spirit of the meeting saying that "the National Technological Entrepreneurs Week is performed at national level. 20 provinces participated last year with over 160 activities”. She also informed that unlike last year, in this edition "clinics on entrepreneurship oriented to biotechnology, nanotechnology and information and communication technology (ICT) will be held in Buenos Aires". She also emphasized the importance of technological entrepreneurship to the Ministry, which is related to "the willingness to contribute to further diversification of the Argentine productive matrix, with companies, goods and more technology-intensive services. In this regard, she said that one of the ways to achieve this goal is to "encourage the creation of new technology-based companies".

The purpose of the meeting is to promote and create a space for participation for those who want to know the local and regional business community as well as the incorporation of tools and skills development in the detection of scientific and technological-based business opportunities. To meet these requirements, courses, workshops and other actions will be conducted in order to encourage the incorporation of research, development and innovation (R + D + i) processes and knowledge transfer throughout the country.

The II National Technology Entrepreneurs Week seeks to strengthen and revitalize the existing suppliers and business networks, from the incorporation of new non-traditionally business actors generating a new productive ecosystem resulting in higher levels of competitiveness of value chains and enhance sustainable development of the country.

It is noteworthy that during the first edition of the National Technology Entrepreneurs Week, held in 2013, workshops, courses and other initiatives aimed to 125 institutions were performed, including public and private organizations, entrepreneurs, teachers, researchers, fellows and co-workers.

The Under Secretary of Political Science, Fernando Peirano, the Executive Director of ENDEAVOR Argentina, Gabriela Macagni and the executive director of Fundación EMPRETEC Argentina, Ricardo Finkelsztein also attended the meeting.
