The Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, Mr. Lino Barañao, visited today the science portfolio space in the 40th BAAM - Argentina Fashion Week in Buenos Aires Sheraton Hotel. A collection of costumes, masks and accessories wore by native peoples as mocovíes, Aymara and tehuelches, among others, are exhibited as well as a new virtual fitting room for those wanting to experience these garments digitally.

In the booth the guides who were trained in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Buenos Aires invite visitors to know and understand the origins, traditions and development of indigenous peoples in order to identify our cultural roots and to understand multiculturalism. Also, a large collection of silverware, accessories, shoes, bags, hats and ritual elements is displayed.

This initiative is additional to other actions in which the Ministry of Science is actually participating such as the restoration project of the archaeological site “El Shincal”, located in the province of Catamarca and the space called “Anthropology, Ethnography and Archaeology” on the mega exhibition Technopolis.

It is noteworthy that Barañao was received by the BAAM director and producer, Hector Vidal Rivas, together with Tomás Ameigeiras, who is in charge of coordination of the activities carried out by the Ministry of Science at Technopolis. The space of the Ministry of Science is made together with the audiovisual equipment of the Conicet Documental and the Fundación de Historia Natural Félix de Azara. It can be visited until March 19 from 5 pm to 11 pm.
