The secretary of the Department of Planning and Policy of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, Dr. Ruth Ladenheim, led the presentation of the operational plan of technologies used by the oil and gas industry. The event took place in the Scientific Technological Pole, and the officer was accompanied by the technical director of the Argentine Institute of Oil and Gas (IAPG), Mr. Víctor Casalotti and the YPF Tecnología S.A. (Y-TEC)’s general director Gustavo Bianchi.

"We are interested in that these operational plans and this priority set we have identified to guide the scientific system, gain strength and effectiveness".

In this context, Dr. Ladenheim said: "We are interested in that these operational plans and this priority set we have identified to guide the scientific system, gain strength and effectiveness". The secretary described this initiative as pioneer since "we were going through this planning process that resulted in the maturation of a policy and the implementation of Y- TEC, an important institution created by YPF, the Ministry and CONICET to help the national energy matrix to change".

Within the "National Plan of Science, Technology and Innovation, Innovative Argentina 2020" not only the strengthening of the scientific and technological base in the country is pursued, but also the promotion of value added production, the incorporation of scientific and technological knowledge by both traditional industries and new businesses developed in a framework of high technological complexity, focusing to that end in high-impact economic and social interventions.

In this sense, the 2012-2015 programming has scheduled the implementation tables with participation of a group of key actors concerned in the productive and academic research activities taking place at different geographical locations for discussion and validation of courses of action provided by the Plan. This stage includes the preparation of annual operational plans for the 35 strategic socio productive cores (NSPE) determined by the Plan, and the transversal themes. The operational plan guides the funding implementation, define lines of scientific research and technological development and allow tracking and evaluation of the undertaken actions.

The NSPE Oil and Gas covers both technologies for the development and exploitation of hydrocarbons deposits, and those used in the physical chemical processes petroleum of oil processing to obtain various fuel products. The aim is to develop and implement technologies to improve the efficiency of the industry, returning to the path of self-sufficiency in energy.

The Undersecretary of Policies in Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, Mr. Fernando Peirano also participated.
