The secretary of the Department of Planning and Policy of this Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, Ms. Ruth Ladenheim, with the president of the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Promotion, Armando Bertranou signed a contract for the subsidy of $ 5,780,000 aimed at the development and implementation of a model plant that will produce high-power wind turbine tower. The project was submitted by a public-private consortium of the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) Rafaela delegation and the Metallurgical Company SICA Argentina S.A., in the framework of the call Fund of Sector Technological Innovation of Energy - Development and manufacture of high power wind turbines- 2013 managed by the Argentinean Sector Fund (FONARSEC) in the scope of the Agency.

"Corresponds to a Ministry policy which aims at promoting the application of science in the development of renewable energy in our country and the possibility of replacing imports and creating qualified jobs”.

At the signing, Ruth Ladenheim stressed out that this subsidy "corresponds to a Ministry policy which aims at promoting the application of science in the development of renewable energy in our country and the possibility of replacing imports and creating qualified jobs”.

The initiative aims at making the SICA metallurgical company a national, stable and competitive supplier of wind turbines, which will be validated dimensionally during the real time process through means created and calibrated by the National Institute of Industrial Technology of Rafaela. There will be a space and circuit of rails and runways for the huge pieces, as well as technological skills of simulation in design and intelligent resource planning, manufacturing technologies, completion and transfer, allowing for a level of safety and competitiveness to the efficient supply of parks and customers.

The company will provide its "know how" recently forged in designing and prototyping of wind towers for wind turbines of 2.1 MW, establishing a model manufacturing process. The technical team of the INTI- Rafaela will be responsible for validating of the dimensional alignment and coherence.
