ASETUR – Technological Support for the Touristic Sector

ASETUR is an instrument from the Federal Council for Science and Technology (COFECyT) developed to boost regional touristic centers requiring technological innovation and that have been selected jointly by the respective supervising authorities in each province and authorities from the area of Tourism, under the Sustainable Strategic Plan 2006-2016.

ASETUR aims at achieving a differentiation and an improvement in the existing touristic offer; benefiting a number of players that implies a global improvement in the respective touristic destinations, and to promote social equality, economic efficiency, environmental sustainability and self-managed development.

Financial resources granted by the Ministry of Science for such projects are non-refundable contributions. Such funds may not exceed 70% of the total project cost.

Potential beneficiaries of such line of funding are: Companies, legal persons, individuals, governmental and non-governmental agencies, related either directly or indirectly with the touristic sector.
