Bilateral Cooperation con Germany

The cooperation between Argentina and Germany is developed between the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation and 7 German counterparts.

DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service

The Cooperation Programme with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has its origin in the agreement signed in April 1999 between the National Agency for Science and Technology Promotion and the DAAD, on scientific cooperation projects.

Annual calls are opened in all areas of science, through which joint research projects are presented. These projects receive funding for the exchange of scientists and missions for human resource training.

BMBF - Federal Ministry for Education and Research in Germany

The Cooperation Programme that is currently being developed was born from the guidelines agreed in the Mixed Commission Meeting on Science and Technology held in 1997.

Max Planck Society

International PICT

The International Scientific and Technological Research Projects (PICT) with Max Planck Society were born as a result of the Workshop held in 2005 between the former Department of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation (now Ministry) and the German Research Society, based on their commitment to create a joint work programme to fund scholarships for young scientists in the framework of research projects.

Binational Institute in Biomedicine

The Biomedicine Research Institute from Buenos Aires begins with the signing of an agreement between the then Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Max Planck Society, on November 19, 2007.

The Institute will be legally and administratively integrated to the CONICET and will be located in the Scientific and Technological Hub. Its aim is to develop state-of-the-art research in neuroscience, cancer and stem cells, among others.

Leibniz Institute

This cooperation is part of the Cooperative Agreement on Science and Technology from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation and the Leibniz Institute for material and solid research from Dresden, Germany, signed on June 6, 2009.

Fraunhofer Society

In October 2007, the agreement with the Fraunhofer Society in the field of nondestructive testing was signed. Nowadays there is a cooperation programme on negotiation to fund the mobility of researchers within the framework of joint research projects.

German Research Foundation (DFG)

As a result of the visit in 2006 of Mr. Dietrich Halm, responsible for Latin America of the German Research Foundation, the DFG (Deutsche Forschung Gemeinschaft), an exchange of notes made in 2007, and meetings held during 2008 during the Argentina-Germany Scientific and Technological Cooperation Week, some discussions have been initiated with a view to realize a future cooperation.

Argentinean-German University Center (CUAA)

The project starts on March 8, 2010 after the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Argentinean Government (represented by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation and the Ministry of Education), the German Government (represented by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Relations and the DAAD) and the German Argentinean Association of Science and Technology.

The center aim is to group and promote university projects in the area of ??research and education between the two countries, in particular, binational programmes of undergraduate and graduate studies.

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation will fund research activities, human resources training at postdoctoral level and will provide logistical support.
